European China Policy: Track 1.5 Workshop 2022

Co-hosted by MERICS and the French Government, it was with much pleasure we gathered for the European China Policy Track 1.5 Workshop in Paris, hosted at the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs on 16-17 November 2022.

This year in its ninth edition, the European China Policy Track 1.5 Workshop has travelled through various European capitals in previous years. As on former occasions, the workshop assembled senior officials from France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and the EU as well as leading European China experts from the think tank community.

The discussions centered around Chinas internal and external political trajectory after the 20th Party Congress; Europe’s security interests facing increasing tension and geopolitical ambiguity in the Indo-Pacific Region; as well as challenges and opportunities of business cooperation and scientific collaboration with China.

The conference took place on a strictly confidential basis.
